International CAPES-FCT agreement between the Federal Fluminense University, the Federal University of Santa Catarina and the Social Studies Centre of the University of Coimbra

This agreement is part of the activities developed by GRPESQ UFF / CNPq “Africa, Brazil, Portugal: literary dialogues”, coordinated by Professors Laura Cavalcante Padilha and Silvio Renato Jorge. The project ATLANTIC TRANSITS: WOMEN AND POST-COLONIAL EXPERIENCE gathers researchers from the Literary Studies Graduate Program at UFF, UFSC and the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra and it is funded by CAPES / FCT Official Announcement (registration CAPES 339-13) for the 2013/2015 biennium. This cooperation aims to develop the analysis of significant aspects of cultural relations between Portugal, Brazil and Angola, especially the literature produced in these countries, based on a theoretical production that develops a reflection responsible for linking the postcolonial and women issues. This project encompasses work assignments and also post-doctoral fellowship programs and sandwich research grants for doctoral degree students. The project plans to publish a book with the attained results when the project is concluded. Proponho: The publication of a book is planned for when the Project is concluded.

This agreement is part of the activities developed since 2000 by GRPESQ UFF / CNPq “Poetry and contemporaneity”, coordinated by Professors Celia Pedrosa and Ida Alves. It proposes to support the development of comparative research on the criticism of Brazilian and Portuguese contemporary poetry in the biennium 2013-2015, through the exchange of graduate doctoral students degree, postdoctoral researchers and faculty members on work missions, as well as the organization of a book of essays and an international seminar.

International Agreement CAPES-Mincyt between the Federal Fluminense University and Universidad de Tres de Febrero (Buenos Aires – Argentina)

This agreement is part of the activities developed since 2011 by GRPESQ UFF / CNPq ” Theoretical and Critical Thinking About Contemporariness”, coordinated by Professors Celia Pedrosa and Diana Klinger. It proposes to support the development of comparative research on the theme Literature, life and experiencing in Latin America: Towards a Translanguage Policy, during the biennium 2014-2016, through the exchange of graduate doctoral students degree, postdoctoral researchers and faculty members on work missions, as well as the organization of a book of essays and an international seminar.

International agreement between the Federal Fluminense University, the Université du Québec in Montreal and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul

In 2011, Elène Cliche and Rachel Bouvet, both Professors from UQAM visited UFF. They participated in several academic activities, having met with the research groups coordinated by Eurydice Figueiredo and Mary Bernadette Velloso Porto, and presented lectures and conferences. Professor Elène Cliche attended the Colloquium “ Inhabiting and represening the distance between Canadian and Brazilian literary texts”, organized by Professors Maria Bernadette Velloso Porto and Arnaldo Viana, and the text she presented will be published in a book edited by the two Brazilians with material selected from the event. The book is under production. During that period, Professor Matildes Demétrio visited the Canadian university, and there she taught an undergraduate course on Brazilian literature. Collaboration with the Canadians has been one of long duration (the bilateral agreement is 27 years old) and has generated many publications and symposia held over those years.
In addition to the bilateral agreement of UQAM with UFF, the two universities are connected by a larger network, comprised of over 10 Brazilian universities, called BRACERB Network, whose spearhead in Montreal is CERB (Centre d’Études et de Recherches sur le Brésil). Professor Eurydice is also UFF coordinator of this multilateral agreement.
International agreement between the Federal Fluminense University and Università degli Studi di Napoli,”L’Orientale”
Professors in charge: Sonia Torres (UFF), Angelo Trento (USN)
This agreement aims at an inter-institutional academic exchange between research professors in the areas that the two universities have in common. The rotation of the areas / courses is based on the interest in a specific line of research at the time of demand and the availability of colleagues from the same area working on similar interfaces, with theme(s) at each of the institutions, who can receive the colleague from the partner institution. The agreement also encompasses an exchange of graduate students for research activities. (Note: Air fares / daily expenses will not be reimbursed by UFF). Activities such as mini-courses, lectures and internships for UFF doctoral degree students have already been held under this agreement. In 2011, three students coming from “L’Orientale” were received to attend courses for academic credits and to participate in research groups.

The purpose of this agreement is to integrate the actions of our Program, especially those of the Reseach Group “The past in the present: reinterpretations of modernity”, to the actions of the Centre de Recherches Poétiques et Histoire Littéraire at the level of Masters and Doctoral Degrees, especially concerning the studies related to Literary Theory and Literatures in French. .

At present, Professor Muller offers courses on Film Studies every year at the undergraduate and masters degree levels in the course Licence bi-disciplinar Lettres/Cinema/Master-Doctorat en Études Cinématographiques.
International agreement between the Federal Fluminense University and the University of Vienna
Professors in charge: Susana Kampff Lages (UFF), Kathrin Sartingen (University of Vienna)
The agreement encompasses the Research Groups’s activities led by Professor Susana Kampff Lages “Travels: between Literatures and Cultures” and the investigations developed by Professor Adalberto Müller Jr. in his studies of the relations between Literature and Cinema. In addition to lectures given by Professor Susana Kampff Lages in Vienna on the occasion of the agreement signing in July 2011, Professor Adalberto Müller Jr. was also a Visiting Professor at that institution.
In an Agreement with the Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico), in the end of 2011, the Program was appointed to host the Cátedra de Estudios Interamericanos Carlos Fuentes, in a process that will run for three years, and the Chair will be coordinated by Professor Livia Reis during that period.
In 2011, the Program narrowed its ties with the Université de Lille 3, and an agreement is now under evaluation for signature at UFF’s Office of International Affairs. This agreement will be coordinated by Professor Maria Elizabeth Chaves de Mello, from UFF, and Professor Olinda Kleiman, from the Université de Lille.
